Today, Federal Government has approved the Recruitment of Npower Beneficiaries to 1Million Shortlist. This is good news for all N-power Beneficiaries across 36 States in Nigeria. See latest information under.
The number of beneficiaries of National Social Investment Programmes, NSIP has been increased by Mr. President Federal Republic of Nigeria, in other to accommodate more people across the Federation.
According to Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, President Muhammadu Buhari raised the number of the beneficiaries of the programme which included the Home-Grown School Feeding Programme, HGSFP, N-Power, Conditional Cash Transfer, CCT and Government Enterprise and Empowerment Programme, GEEP, to accommodate more beneficiaries.
President Muhammadu Buhari has authorized expansion of all NSIP programmes, such as increase of N-Power beneficiaries from 500,000 to 1,000,000, increase of GEEP beneficiaries by 1,000,000 and increase of beneficiaries of Home-Grown School Feeding by 5,000,000,” the minister disclosed.
As stated by Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development, Sadiya Umar Farouq, About 3.7 million households comprising more than 15.5 million individuals have been captured on the National Social Register.
In line with Mr President’s directive to expand the National Social Register, we have developed a strategy for targeting the urban poor.
This register will use existing databases from the National Communications Commission (NCC), and the Bank Verification Number (BVN) from the Nigeria Inter-Bank Settlement System (NIBSS).
Meanwhile, Sadiya Umar Farouq has launched NEXIT Portal for former Npower Volunteers batch A and B for an empowerment Programme from CBN by Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development.
