Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development pays Stipends Payment of the NSIP Independent Monitors across 36 States in Nigeria; about 7500 NSIP Independent Monitors received their payments today.

The Special Assistant, Media & Publicity to the Hon Minister of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development Nneka Ikem has given an update in regards to stipends payment of the NSIP independent monitors.

According to her, the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Disaster Management and Social Development (FMHDSD) clears outstanding stipends of all 7,500 Independent monitors for the National Social Intervention Program (NSIP).

However, while the stipends of the 7500 NSIP independent monitors are paid, the Npower batch C stream 2 beneficiaries under the same NSIP program are patiently waiting for their 3 month outstanding stipends to be paid.

The Independent Monitors are charged to monitor the NSIP programmes at the community level. They are also assigned to monitor the programme beneficiaries within their locality (schools, households and market) with the aim to ensure that the primary objectives of the scheme such as Npower, GEEP, CCT and NHGSFP are achieved.

So, unlike N-power recruitment that is done through an online registration, the NSIP Independent Monitors recruitment is done by appointment or selection by FMHDSD.
