More than 16 million beneficiaries of South African residents receive various types of social grants from the South African government. These grants are disbursed by South African Social Security Agency (SASSA), to people who do not have the financial means to support themselves.

This program is specifically for people who do not have the financial means to support themselves.

If your application has been approved for the Older Persons Grant, Disability Grant or Children’s Grant, you may be wondering when you will receive your grant payment. Below you will find a list of the payment dates for these 3 particular grants (other types of social grants are paid shortly after these grants).

SASSA Grant Payment Dates for April 2023

• The Older Persons Grant (as well as any grants linked to these accounts) will be paid on 4 April 2023.
• The Disability Grant (as well as any grants linked to these accounts) will be paid on 5 April 2023.
• All other grants (Child Support Grant, Foster Child Grant, Care Dependency Grant, War Veterans Grant) will be paid on 6 April 2023.
