Anambra State to Reopen Schools on September 2020 latest update

Anambra State Nigeria has fixed September 7, 2020 to reopen Schools across the State. Primary and secondary schools in Anambra are to resume on Monday, Sept.7, 2020 according to Anambra State Ministry of Basic Education. Read more below.

Resumption of Schools in Anambra State showed that the third term of the 2019/2020 session would begin on Monday, September 14, and end on Friday, October 23, 2020, for both primary and secondary schools.

Nwabueze Nwankwo, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Basic Education, said that students in boarding schools would resume at the weekend before the resumption date.

We have continued to teach our children at home through various e-platforms, including the Anambra State Teaching on Air.

According to Mr Nwankwo, Primary School Leaving Certificate examinations would hold on Saturday, September 12, 2020.

Meanwhile Lagos and Osun States have set resumption dates for schools to reopen from 14 and 21 September, 2020, while Kogi State have ordered Primary, Secondary and Tertiary institutions to reopen on 14 September, 2020.

However, States including Ogun, Katsina, Bauchi, Enugu, Sokoto, Gombe and Ekiti on Sunday ruled out full reopening of schools, including tertiary institutions, despite the success recorded so far in the fight against COVID-19.
