Recently, the Nigeria Government has directed that telecom company should disconnect numbers that are not linked to NIN. As a result, Telecom Company instructed their customers to link their phone numbers to NIN to avoid disconnection.
In line with this, Airtel sent out the following message to its customers:
Your NIN has a mismatch with your KYC details. Click https://bit.ly/3IySDeA or visit Airtel Shop with your NIN. Dial 3862# for the Airtel Shop near you.
How to resolve Airtel NIN Mismatch with KYC Details
If you received the above message from Airtel, kindly do as instructed by taking the following steps below:
- Visit https://airtel.com.ng/nin on a computer or smartphone and provide your phone number to receive a code to proceed. Ensure that your device have Web camera or Mobile Camera because it will be required to complete NIN verification
- You will be asked to provide your NIN and taking a clear picture of you including capturing of your fingers. Upon completion, you received the following text message:
User Id provided for registration on MSISDN-8081xxxxxx has been validated successfully by NIMC. Please dial USSD CODE(*548#)to view numbers registered under your User Id. Contact our Service Center if any of the listed numbers is NOT registered by you. Thank you for choosing Airtel
The second solution is to visit Airtel Shop with your NIN to have them fix the issue for you. Dial 3862# for the Airtel Shop near you
