About the ELICOS Scholarship Programme

The ELICOS scholarship is a grant for prospective international students who will undertake an English for Further Studies (ELICOS) course with La Trobe College Australia (LTCA) followed by an undergraduate or postgraduate degree at La Trobe University.

Not confident you’ll be ready to study in a new language? The English for Further Studies program is designed for international students with ambitions to succeed in an Australian academic setting.

In developing your academic and language skills, you’ll learn self-study techniques, become familiar with lecturer expectations, and get a better understanding of academic coursework.

You can achieve this through:

Library and project research
Academic reading, listening and note taking
Presentations and public speaking
Academic essay and report writing
Critical thinking and analysis

The English for Further Studies course is offered at La Trobe University’s Melbourne campus and can be packaged with your academic course into a single offer letter.

Eligibility/Requirements for La Trobe University ELICOS Scholarship 2023/2024

Be a citizen or permanent resident of a country other than Australia or New Zealand
Be a new international student applying for an undergraduate or postgraduate coursework program commencing in any intake in 2023.
Be a full fee-paying student (non-sponsored student).

Selection criteria for ELICOS Scholarship 2023/2024 to study in Australia

The applicants who successfully receive an ELICOS offer will automatically be considered for the scholarship based on the eligibility criteria.

What is expected of you?

Maintain a full-time enrolment at one of La Trobe College Australia’s campuses in Australia and have satisfactory academic progress.
Progress to the intended Bachelor or Master program at La Trobe University after the completion of the ELICOS course.
Students should pay the remainder of the ELICOS tuition fees not covered by the scholarship.
